Maddie's 3rd Birthday goes Dr.Suess

As a general rule, I try to be original in all the works that I do that I like to consider as "artwork".
However, when I was challenged recently to do a painting of the LORAX, I found the task a challenge even though the character was already developed by another artist. To be honest, I thought the guy was yellow, in the end I used very little to create the hairy little image. To complete the birthday effect  of curse she needed the trees in a variety of colors ( 5 feet tall) and several references to this guy on signs, containers, and party favors.

Painting for the sake of art is rewarding, painting for the enjoyment of your granddaughter is priceless.

"It had to happen..."

The poster business reached another milestone this year with the addition of "full color" in the images.

The center being done in color 6 years ago led to some spot color over the last few years in the kids and now the process includes hair color and flesh tones to make the posters entirely colored. The look is impressive and I question why I didn't do it before. Of course, the answer to that is that it takes forever to do. :)
