Maddie's 3rd Birthday goes Dr.Suess
As a general rule, I try to be original in all the works that I do that I like to consider as "artwork".
However, when I was challenged recently to do a painting of the LORAX, I found the task a challenge even though the character was already developed by another artist. To be honest, I thought the guy was yellow, in the end I used very little to create the hairy little image. To complete the birthday effect of curse she needed the trees in a variety of colors ( 5 feet tall) and several references to this guy on signs, containers, and party favors.
Painting for the sake of art is rewarding, painting for the enjoyment of your granddaughter is priceless.

Great job!
Thanks Andy, I know you like the Dr. Suess stuff.
That's awesome. It's amazing what a grandfather will do for his lil' granddaughter. She's going to love it!
